WTAC 2017 Wrap-Up
Once again, LinkECU was proud to be an official partner of the World Time Attack Challenge. Held just last weekend, this event has grown into one of Australia’s biggest motorsport events featuring multiple time attack classes and 32 cars battling it out sideways in the Honeywell Garrett Drift Challenge. This year, the Livestream made viewing possible from all corners of the world, complimenting the large crowd who got to see and hear the action up close.
Link Engine Management was on-hand in trader alley with product information, tech support and giveaway goodies. It was a pleasure to hear so much personal feedback from extremely satisfied customers, who now have their cars running better than ever!
Link also stood out on-track, with four cars carry the exclusive Link G4+ livery, and many other drivers and teams utilising the Link ECU technology to maximise their performance. Andy Duffin’s RX7 stole the show on many occasions, the flames and great sound of the exhaust being a crowd favorite despite not managing to secure the podium position the team deserved. We also caught up with Danny Buneta running a Toyota Supra JZA80, and Matt Hill running a S15 for up a closer look at their impressive set-ups.
There were many other outstanding cars on display, including the Mazda 767B Le Mans and Keiichi Tsuchiya’s souped up Toyota 86.
In difficult wet conditions for the final on Saturday, all of our sponsored drift vehicles made the top 16 in the Honeywell Garrett drift challenge. Cole Armstrong put on a show to come home in 10th place, with Alex Sciacca and Camo Mote finishing up 12th and 13th respectively.
Well done to everyone involved in a great weekend. We are already looking forward to next year!
