With so much to see track-side, in the pits and down Trader Alley, World Time Attack put on an amazing show once again this year. Sydney Motorsport Park played host to some of the Worlds best performance cars for two days of action in the scorching heat.

It’s no understatement to say the Time Attack, Flying 500, Drift and Hard Park line ups at #WTAC2019 were jam-packed full of incredible machinery.

Take a look at just some of the variety of cars using a Link ECU over the weekend….

 

1. Gardner Cars Drift Ranger Ute

The LS powered Drift Ute, based upon the Ford Ranger, is the first of its kind worldwide. As much as possible, the factory chassis and rails have remained standard. One thing is obvious when it fires however, this is no ordinary Ranger engine. The custom (near) straight pipes and LS V8 engine combination absolutely roar. On track it looked and sounded great too, drifting for the first time ever at Sydney Motorsport Park. This is one amazing build and we were so fortunate to see the quality of it up close!

 

2. Cosmic performance Civic

This Skyline is more than just a fast car. It is a well-rounded Company Project by Cosmic Performance; a Melbourne based Link ECU Dealer. Owner, Henry Lim, and his employees have worked hard over the past two years on this R33 Skyline which puts out a reliable 500kw/800Nm. The engine consists of an RB30 bottom end, and RB25 head. A factory RB30 crank has been balanced with a Ross damper and NPC Chromoly flywheel, Manley Rods and CP pistons, all given a boost by the Garrett GTX3582R. The package is controlled by a Link ECU which monitors all the engine’s vitals including manifold pressure, air temp, oil pressure and temp, water temp and EGT. Data is displayed to Driver Dan Mayers in the cockpit via an AiM Strada dash.

 

3. Andy Gray Drift’s JZX100

Andy Gray’s 2017 / 2018 Championship winning car was shipped over from Powervehicles Japan for him to use at the event. Housed in the Chaser JZX100 Chassis, this 2JZ engine puts out 800 horsepower and a ton of torque to compensate for the slightly heavier body than the popular S-Chassis’s. It was evident just how good this package is when you could visually see the Scotsman pull away from chase cars on the drift course. Andy is of course, a class act himself and it was a honor to have him, his car & some of his team Down Under.

 

4. Ben Creswick’s Toyota Supra

Ben’s Toyota supra made its debut at Work Time Attack this year. A Sydney local, Ben has put a lot of work into this car and it definitely shows. The JDM 1998 RZ JZA80 features not only a tidy exterior, under the hood there is a powerful 2JZ engine. Competing in the Club Sprint class, the car is controlled by a Link Thunder ECU and puts out 800 horsepower. While he didn’t have a heap of luck at WTAC this year, no doubt we will see some more progress made with the car over the next few months and tearing around the track again next year!

 

5. B2R Motorsports GTR Skyline

Sydney based B2R Motorsports, once again entered the Nissan GTR – STFYTR – in the Flying 500 at WTAC. The R32 reached 245 km/hr this year. This is the World’s Quickest and Fastest manual street Radial Skyline GTR. It reached a New Pb 8.12 174mph earlier this year, with a 1.26 60Ft.

 

6. Subaru STi Time Attack

Adin Ahanger was driving this beautiful 2002 Subaru WRX in the Clubsport Time Attack Class. The car produces 421kw at the wheels and was one of the class favourites. With a Link G4+ PlugIn ECU, it is set up with full CAN integration, featuring dash logging and traction control. Unfortunately, an engine issue saw the team have to retire for the weekend.
