World Time Attack Challenge 2017

The Link ECU Sales team are very excited to be part of the World Time Attack Challenge to be held this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park, Australia.

This event has been a fan favourite since 2010; now also hosting a huge trade exhibition and array of superstar drivers.  The hot combination of time-trial style racing and drifting will certainly see the large contingent of Link G4+ sponsored drivers and cars competing for podium places.

First up, in the Link ECU sponsored Time Attack Open class is Andy Duffin. Andy’s team – 3 Rotor Racing – are long-term Link supporters, and he will pilot his Mazda RX7 as fast as possible for one hot-lap at a time. Andy and the team will be up against fierce competition from the likes of Tetshuiro Kurokawa of Japan.

After the day time WTAC action has subsided, the evening program features the Honey Garrett Drift Challenge with a full house of 32 drift cars battling it out under floodlights. Last year this was the biggest drift event Australia has seen, and the competition and cars on show this year will surely improve on this feat once again.

In Link liveries, we have Dylan Woolhouse’s Mazda RX7, Alex Sciacca’s RX8, and Camo Mote’s Nissan Silvia. Also in a Silvia is Dave Steedman from Mount Maunganui. Other Link supported drivers include Adam Davies piloting a Nissan 180SX, Darren Kelly in a Nissan R35, and finally, one of the event favorites, Cole Armstrong in his R34.

The drifters will all be up against guest driver/kiwi hero, and reigning V8 Supercar Champion, Shane van Gisbergen.

For those that can’t make it to see the action in person, a Livestream will be available through WTAC: www.worldtimeattack.com.  Otherwise, we will see you at stand A3 in trader alley!  #LinkECU product displays, tech support and caps/t-shirts will be available at the stand.
