Jack Shanahan wins Drift on the Docks 2019!
Driving his freshly built Toyota GT86 powered by a 2JZ engine, Irishman Jack Shanahan drove to victory at Round Two of the Drift Games Xtreme Series in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin this past weekend.
A narrow win over fellow Irishman Paul McCarthy in the final resulted in total elation for the Shanahan Car Sales team, who have had a busy off-season preparing new vehicles for both Jack and his younger brother Conor.
Debuting the new car just two weeks ago, Jack’s hard work over Winter paid off with the end-product being “better than ever imagined” as he described it. A Link G4+ Fury ECU takes care of the car’s engine management. Wired up to the AiM MXS Strada dash ensures warning signals are displayed to the driver prior to anything going wrong within the engine.
Not only does the car produce a tonne of useable power, but we have to say it looks pretty great too. The pink livery certainly stands out on track.
The 86 will be driven by Jack in the Drift Masters European Championship this year.
Mechanical issues plaugued the Irishman while competing in these events in 2018, but 2019 is already looking much brighter for 19 year old Jack.
Jack has the ability, and now the car, to podium at these events.
