Multi-purpose Injection/Ignition/Aux drives

G5 Voodoo ECUs make use of multi-purpose Injection/Ignition drives, allowing for highly custom setups, with sequential direct and port injection, or large cylinder count engines with direct spark

These multi-purpose pins open up possibilities for many different configurations. Any left-over drives can be used as auxiliary outputs.

Built-in WiFi, with real-time PC Link connection

Built-in Wi-Fi means you don’t need to be physically connected to the ECU, or even in the vehicle or on the same side of the pit wall to pull logs and make changes. No more fighting through roll cages or digging under the dash trying to plug in a cable

Multiple G5 Voodoo ECUs can be set-up on the same Wi-Fi network allowing you to switch seamlessly.

Onboard Digital Wideband Lambda controllers

All G5 Voodoo ECUs have built-in lambda controllers, saving you from having to run CAN wideband accessories for most install applications.

Dual microcontrollers

G5 Voodoo ECUs run off not one, but two microcontrollers (computers) for more processing power, with one dedicated to running the engine and the other to communications.

Link CAN Files

Create your own separate CAN files with additional streams and channels, which can be saved, locked and shared. The flexible CAN locking system hides your proprietary CAN streams and gives the owner the ability to share the hidden file. The user can write a CAN stream and share the file without the recipient being able to see how it was written.

More auxiliaries than G4X, more options for bespoke configurations

G5 Voodoo ECUs can make use of unused injection and ignition drives as auxiliary outputs. Some dedicated auxiliaries such as E-Throttle or lambda, can be used as general purpose outputs when not used for their dedicated role too.

Included in these aux outputs are two H-Bridges, and four outputs capable of high-side drive. All outputs can do low-side PWM, and all regular auxiliary outputs are now protected from back feeding.

Control Direct Injection (DI)

G5 Voodoo ECUs are a cost-effective solution to opening up the world of both Port and Direct Injection, with the use of an external OEM or aftermarket DI driver box, such as Link's DI Driver-4.

G5 Voodoo can run staged port injection and direct injection (DI), allowing you to add supplementary port injectors to a DI engine to supply more fuel to reach your power goals or to prevent carbon deposit build up on your intake valves.

Built-in Global Positioning System (GPS)

Link’s high accuracy, high frequency GPS allows you to log position, ground speed and UTC time for data analysis at 50 times a second using Link’s Sensor fusion augmented GPS Technology.

This can be used for coaching, especially when connected to a driver analytics tool like MyRaceLab. It also allows you to be creative around setting up features or functions against position, real time or GPS speed.

Link’s GPS can also operate as a vehicle speed sensor for vehicles that don’t have one, giving you an accurate ground speed, such as some race cars or boats. It can be used to easily calibrate wheel speed and to compare wheel and ground speed to determine if tyre slip is occurring.

With Dead Reckoning Link's GPS will continue to calculate position when GPS lock is lost such as in a tunnel, garage or dense bush.

Dual onboard E-throttle (Drive by Wire)

Get a faster, more precise throttle response from up to two banks of a V configuration engine with dual E-throttle.

G5 Voodoo ECUs have fail-safe, solid state throttle relays, saving you from the hassle of wiring them in, making for simple E-throttle installation.

E-throttle outputs can be used for any H-Bridge control such as E-wastegates, meaning you can run both an E-throttle with an E-wastegate for example.

Seamless upgrade from G4X

G5 Voodoo A and B header plugs are identical connectors to G4x and are pinned very closely, so with only minimal re-pinning you can plug a Voodoo into a G4X loom or harness and get started right away.

G5 Voodoo runs on the same highly acclaimed PC Link software as G4X, meaning you don’t need to learn a new software package. PC Link allows you to easily convert G4X tuning Map files to a G5 version, allowing for quick and easy upgrades.

Drag
  • Nitrous Controlcontrol Nitrous Oxide (NOS) in four stages, giving you extra horsepower as you need it.
  • High Inputs and Outputs – control sixteen injector channels and eight ignition channels with sequential injection and direct spark, allowing you to run staged injection, by RPM or boost, on up to eight cylinders.
  • Race Timer and Power Management – set-up the G5 Voodoo Pro to recognise when your vehicle has started moving and then it starts a timer from zero, which it can then use to control engine power using features such as boost pressure, ignition timing, staged nitrous against the timer to ensure the features are delivering at optimum levels.
  • Anti-lag – a standard feature on the G5 Voodoo Pro, to minimise turbo lag on gearshifts.

Track
  • Global Positioning System (GPS) – log your position, ground speed and the UTC 50 times a second, using Link’s Sensor-Fusion augmented GPS Technology. This allows you to be creative around setting up features or functions against position, real time or GPS speed. The time and date can be stamped on your data log files, so you can compare your vehicle set-up changes in time order.
  • Accelerometer – a 3 Axis Accelerometer measures your G Force on 3 axes. One axis measures left versus right, which is your turning force, one measures front vs back, which is acceleration versus braking and the other measures up versus down, in case you leave the ground.
  • Traction Control – wheel slip traction control to reduce wheelspin during acceleration. The ECU can sense when your tyres begin to spin and will reduce power so you maintain traction. You can preset different traction control settings for different conditions such as wet vs dry or hot vs cold.
  • Paddle Shift – control paddle shifters and use advanced features such as Shaft Speed Matching, Controlled Blips, Mis-shift Detection and Retry Logic as standard. This allows for quicker, safer and smoother gear shifts and a longer lasting gearbox. With Paddle Shift you can keep two hands on the wheel at all times leading to greater car control and faster lap times. Not having to use the clutch between gears makes it easier to left foot brake.
  • High Inputs and Outputs – run up to 12 cylinders or 6 rotors with sequential injection and direct spark. It has more Inputs and Outputs than G4X allowing it to run more functions like cooling fans, fuel pumps or a boost control solenoid.
  • Speed Limiting – set a speed limiter to come on at the touch of a button, to control your speed in pit lane.
Rally
  • Direct Injection – DI technology is becoming more and more common in the rally world. The G5 Voodoo Pro can control Direct Injection on up to 12 injection drives using an external OEM or aftermarket driver box and can run up to two DI fuel pumps, using unused injection or ignition drives. It can also run port and DI injection simultaneously.
  • Anti-lag – a standard feature on the G5 Voodoo Pro to minimise turbo lag on gearshifts and cornering.
  • Paddle Shift Control – control paddle shifters and use advanced features such as Shaft Speed Matching, Controlled Blips, Mis-shift Detection and Retry Logic as standard. This allows for quicker, safer and smoother gear shifts and a longer lasting gearbox. With Paddle Shift you can keep two hands on the wheel at all times leading to greater car control and faster lap times. Not having to use the clutch between gears makes it easier to left foot brake to step the rear of the car out on cornering.
  • Speed Limiting – set multiple speed limiters to travel on public roads between stages. Multiple speed limiters can be preset for different road speeds.
  • High Inputs and Outputs – the G5 Voodoo Pro has more Inputs and Outputs than the G4X range of ECUs, allowing you to run all the street functions and features of your rally car, so it is legal to drive on public roads between stages. It also allows you to run motorsport features and functions for increased race performance.
  • Closed Loop Boost Control – a standard feature allowing you to keep within a targeted boost control.
  • Gear Shift Control – change gears without taking your foot off the accelerator. It does this by cutting ignition or fuel during upshifts and blipping the throttle during downshifts.
  • Launch Control – control your engine speed on launch to reduce wheel spin allowing you to accelerate off the line as fast as possible.
  • Engine Protection G5 Voodoo Pro has a range of engine safety features as standard so you don’t get stuck in the middle of nowhere. The safety features can either be enabled to protect your engine or disabled if need to get back to the service area, the choice is yours. You can program the ECU to send an error code to your dash, so you can immediately tell the crew what’s wrong when you get back to the service area. Enabling safety features may require additional sensors.
Drift
  • Engine Protection – G5 Voodoo Pro has a range of engine safety features as standard including a flexible Engine RPM Limiter. Other safety features can either be enabled to protect your engine or disabled if finishing your run is more important, the choice is yours. Enabling safety features may require additional sensors.
  • Anti-lag – a standard feature on the G5 Voodoo Pro, to minimise turbo lag on gearshifts and clutch kicks.
  • Nitrous Control – control Nitrous oxide (NOS) in four stages, giving you extra horsepower as you need it.
  • Gear shift control – change gears without taking your foot off the accelerator. It does this by cutting ignition or fuel during upshifts and blipping the throttle during downshifts.
  • Pops and Bangs (Burbles) – if you are into Pops and Bangs, they can easily be set-up in a G5 Voodoo Pro ECU, either when you lift off the throttle or as part of your Antilag set-up.
Street
  • Traction Control – wheel slip traction control reduces wheelspin during acceleration. The ECU can sense when your tyres begin to spin and will reduce power so you maintain traction. You can preset different traction control settings for different conditions such as wet vs dry or gravel vs paved.
  • E-Throttle (Drive by Wire) – get full control of your electronic throttle setup, allowing a faster more precise throttle response. It helps with Gearshift Control and is mandatory for features such as Traction Control and Cruise Control.
  • Pops and bangs (Burbles) – if you are into Pops and Bangs, they can easily be set-up in a G5 Voodoo Pro ECU, either when you lift off the throttle or as part of your Antilag set-up.
  • Onboard Lambda – dual onboard digital Lambda controllers make for a more accurate tune. This allows your vehicle to run optimally, adjusting the fueling to suit your current driving style such as cruising versus heavy acceleration.
  • Cruise Control – automatically control the speed of your vehicle by taking over the throttle of the car to maintain a steady speed as set by the driver.
  • Overrun fuel cut – a standard feature on the G5 Voodoo Pro where you can set the ECU to stop fueling when you take your foot completely off the accelerator, helping with fuel economy, cylinder cooling and emissions.
Off-road
  • Engine Protection – G5 Voodoo Pro has a range of engine safety features as standard so you don’t get stuck in the middle of nowhere. The safety features can either be enabled to protect your engine or disabled if need the power to get out of a bad situation, the choice is yours. Enabling safety features may require additional sensors.
