Link ECU Build of the Week #5 – Falcons Creations MR2
This MR2 now looks and runs like an absolute Gem, but it hasn’t always been that way!
Falcon Ruben Dimis purchased the 1991 Toyota Mr2 Turbo as a “complete pile of junk”. In his words: ” the interior was trashed, the exterior beaten up and the engine was blown”.
With his own hands, Ruben has transformed every element of the car. The engine, transmission, body, suspension and electronics have all been upgraded or customized, to be a one-of-a-kind MR2. The changes are now nicely polished off with an awesome Link ECU Livery.
The car was built from a bare shell and nothing has been left behind. His favourite part however, is the Link Storm ECU and the features it enables.
Garage CRW made a one-of-a-kind engine harness for the MR2, plus it runs a Link flex fuel sensor, Link oil temp sensor, Link 4 bar MAP sensor, Link fuel pressure sensor and a BTI 7″ digital display.
It is currently being tuned by Portland Speed Industries and puts out close to 600 horsepower on E85. Features enabled include Two Step, Launch Control, Flat Shift and Anti-lag. “I just love it” says Ruben.
“Out of everything I’ve done to the car, the Link ECU has brought it to life. It’s now above my expectations, this car a rocket ship and the throttle response is just incredible. Every beast needs a strong heart and I’m glad I picked this one for my build!”
Plans for the car include some Time Attack racing. This will be done at Sebring Speedway in Florida and Rally Motorsports Track, Florida later this year. Falcon even has some drifting on his mind too!
Falcon wants to pass on a huge Thank You to Scott Brandon at Garage CRW and everyone who helped him finish this build off!
